About Me
I have called the Mitcham Hills home for almost my entire life, and it’s where my heart will always be. As your State Member for Waite in the South Australian Parliament, I carry the voices of our community with me into every debate, every meeting, and every decision.
As a single mum, I worked hard to create opportunities for my now 22-year-old son, and I am incredibly proud of what he has achieved.
My life has always been about rolling up my sleeves and getting involved. My son and I are both volunteer Senior Firefighters with the Upper Sturt CFS, ready to respond when the siren calls.
I’ve been President of my local CWA branch and Vice-President of the Upper Sturt Soldiers Memorial Hall, so I know the value of bringing people together over shared stories, cups of tea, and community projects. I even helped launch our area’s first Parkrun, knowing that a simple Saturday morning jog can spark friendships and healthy habits.
My professional background in workplace safety and public policy has given me the tools to turn local concerns into action. This includes securing upgrades for schools, restoring the Belair Railway Station Heritage Shelter, and advocating for vital road and intersection upgrades like the Belair Road retaining walls, Russell Street/Main Road, Shepherd's Hill/Waite Street, and the long-needed pedestrian-activated crossing outside Coromandel Valley Primary School. I worked with residents to protect more than 150 trees from a proposed $20 million roundabout, and I'm always quick to support our local volunteers. With the support of the Blackwood Action Group, I even launched a local community newspaper—full of stories from across Waite, written by local people, for local people!
My proudest achievements are often the ones that start with a conversation and end with real change. I led South Australia’s first parliamentary inquiry into endometriosis, delivering a report that will influence health, education, and industrial relations policy across the state for years to come.
I've championed green corridors, organised and hosted countless bushfire preparedness and wellness education forums, and partnered with locals to transform the Glenalta and Belair railway stations with beautiful art and greenery.
And while my work takes me all across the electorate, I never forget the importance of opening doors—literally. I have had the privilege of welcoming over 1,300 students and 1,000 community members to Parliament House, guiding them through its halls and sharing how their voices can help shape the laws of our state.
For me, leadership is about listening, working together, and getting things done. It’s about protecting the places we love, bringing people together, and making sure everyone in Waite has the chance to be heard.
My team and I work hard for the people of Waite with a welcoming smile and a 'can-do' attitude. Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient community.
